Daddy's Boots

While trying to procrastinate going to bed tonight, Lily tried to woo us with her cuteness by climbing in Daddy's boots. When I got the camera out she looked at me and said, "Cheese!" Haha! I thought Amanda and Hailey would get a kick out of this.

Haha.

Wonder Pets!

So I guess we've entered that stage of childhood where cartoon characters become a kid's hero. Lily is OBSESSED with the Wonder Pets. She loves the show, and walks around the house singing "wonder tets wonder tets" all day. Now she has stuffed replicas of the animals, and wants to have them nearby whether she's playing with her toys or going to bed. Here she is with Linny, Tuck, and Ming-Ming too.

I wanna cat!

So Lily is acquiring verbal skills like crazy now. She's getting more and more words, and over Easter weekend broke out in her first sentence... "I wanna cat!" This was hilarious because my Mom who hates cats was sitting at the table with us when she said it. I had been talking to Shane about how one of my friend's was wanting to get rid of one of her 3 very sweet kitties now that she has 2 babies and less time for animal maintenance/play and he was not super fond of the idea at first. But within 24 hours of Lily uttering this first sentence he had busted out his jigsaw and was cutting out a hole in the garage door for the cat. Hahaha! A Daddy's love for his baby girl is pretty big. Anyways it has been so adorable seeing Lily bond with this kitty. She wants to follow him all over the place and give him hugs constantly. I can't tell you how many times a day she asks where the "ditty" is. These are sweet memories. In the 2nd picture I was trying to capture her playing phone with Gretsky the cat. She would put the phone up to his ear and say "hewwo!" and then put it up to her own ear and say "hewwo!" Emma is still adjusting to the idea of a fellow pet especially since Lily is so enamored with him right now, but I've been giving her lots of extra attention to make up for it.

QUELF

We got this board game called Quelf for Christmas. While the fam was in town we decided to break it out and play a round. Here are pictures of some of the tasks we had to do to play. It's a cooky game, but right up our alley in the humor department. Fun times!

Easter egg Hunting

We did an early Easter egg hunt on Saturday since there was rain in the forecast for Sunday. It was priceless to see Lily run around collecting the eggs and putting them in her basket. We also had some fun with the confetti eggs Aunt Shelley brought. No person was left unconfettied (I know that's not a word, but you know what I mean).

Riley's Birthday Party

Happy 1st Birthday Riley! We love you!

2 more zoo pics.

I couldn't leave these 2 pics out! Riley was too cute in her little hat. And Shane was..... being Shane. He's comparing his wing span to the other birds. Ahhh... gotta love him : o )

Zoo on Riley's Bday!

We got to go to the Fort Worth Zoo with the Mayfields on Riley's first birthday. It was an awesome day at the zoo. The weather was nice. It wasn't too crowded. The girls enjoyed the animals. And we were in good company. Lily ate/wore her first icee. Needles to say she was a big fan. She also got really excited about the baby cow (who licked her) and the otter who had a lot of energy that day.

We heart the Schaefers!

Logan and Lily always play and laugh and enjoy each other's company so much. It's adorable to watch. Plus the moms and dads like chilaxin (chillin out and relaxin) together too!

3 little monkeys

Here is Lily with her friends Reese and Evelyn (Kaitlyn just missed the bed jumping extravaganza). The moms in our playgroup were all chatting in the living room and came into the Menke's guest room to find the girls had organized their own activity.
Cute girls : o )

Jace and Caris

Jace and Caris came and spent a couple of days with us last month. It was cute to see Lily n Jace playing together now that they're a little older and more aware of one another. We had an adventurous day at the zoo (adventurous is the right word... don't you think Caris?). And Caris and I enjoyed our bonding time when the kiddos were sleeping too. We hope this pair comes back for another visit soon!

fancy dinner

Rare pic of us all dressed up for a fancy dinner a medical company put on to help the 2nd year residents celebrate the halfway mark in their residency. From now we only have 14 months left!
