Lily's 1st Movie Theater Experience

Walking out with E.T.

The snacks

E.T. is ready

Mommy and Lily are ready mostly (Lily did not like the pre-preview commercials that were on. This is her anxious/scared face).

So we've been wanting to try to take Lily to the movie theater as she is a big fan of the motion pictures. And we keep hearing that "Up" is a really cute movie. Then E.T. voiced his interest in taking Lily to her first movie. So the plan was in motion. Daddy was at work. So it was just E.T., Lily, and I headed to the show. We were prepared to leave the theater when she got antsy or if she got fussy, but she ended up sitting through the whole show. Well, sitting as much as an almost 2 year old is capable of. She alternated between my lap, standing, sitting on her own, and leaning on E.T. She loved the Reeses pieces, and slowly munched on them throughout the show. And she liked to verbalize what was happening as she understood it, which was way cute. The movie had a lot of depth for an animated film. There were tear jerking parts and really funny parts too. Overall it was an awesome film. And we all had a great time.

JACEMAN

2 little monkeys

Look at these faces!!! So stinkin cute!

My cousin Caris and her boys came for a visit last weekend. While Caris and Cody went to the Cowboys game with some friends, Lily and I hung out with Jace. We had a fun time playing. These two were hilarious together. This was one of the first times they've really noticed each other and interacted in their play. It was super sweet. It's very easy to see the difference between boys and girls when you watch them side by side. But they still had a good time together. And I had a blast watching them.

Here's a clip of their bathtime fun : )

Erin took some pics of us. Thanks Erin!

Sierra, Jacob, and Catherine on the slide
On one of the days the Whitney crew was here we headed out to the duck pond/park with our friends The Schaefers (Erin, Logan, and Baby Luke). The kids had a lot of fun playing, and when everyone started getting hungry we decided to head to Rosas. I tried to capture the moment for you guys, but I don't think the camera did the craziness justice. : ) Fun times!

It's so hard to get a pic with all 3 in the frame much less smiling and facing the camera, but here are the precious munchkins!

Beautiful blue-eyed Catherine

Jacob loves wrestling with E.T. : )

Aunt Sierra braved the trip to see us with her 2 little ones a couple of weeks ago, and we were so glad. We had a great time, and came to the conclusion that we shouldn't let so much time pass between visits. Both Jacob and Catherine have grown and changed so much since we saw them around Christmas. Jacob has a huge vocabulary, and was cracking us up with his running monologue of his every move "I'm looking at the fishies in the water. I'm pushing Thomas. Thomas is number one....." He is a ball of joyous energy. And Baby Catherine is the sweetest baby ever. She just goes with the flow- very mild mannered, laid back, and happy. Quite a change from the 2 firstborns of this generation : ) And Sierra is mothering them both with a lot of love and a LOT of organization : )

Cooling off...

So our car a/c broke recently, and we thought we got it fixed last week before the big trip to Midland/Odessa. But an hour into the trip it was only blowing hot air. It made for some interesting car rides to and from visiting the fam. I do not know how people survived before refrigerated air! I guess you get used to it. The 2nd half of our trip home was definitely easier than the rest. It may have been our stop at Dairy Queen for a super awesome thin mint blizzard that did the trick. : ) That was fun! Lily did surprisingly awesome on the car trip, and I was so thankful. The top pick is us when we got back home. We had a new appreciation for air conditioning for sure!

Family Time!

Lily and I went to the good ole Permian Basin this weekend for a family reunion of sorts. My Aunt Penny was turning 50. And my Uncle Mike who just got back from deployment in Iraq came home. So lots of the fam congregated and had some good times.

Chillin

Lily loves playing in the backyard lately. There was one week especially recently when the heat was moderate and she was so happy playing out there in her own little world. She was digging in the dirt, playing with Emma, and sometimes just chilling out. It was funny to watch her entertain herself and be all content with the world.
